Overview
ICE Arrests is the public record of immigration arrests in the United States, city by city. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no identifier of any kind. We do not collect data about you, and the App Store privacy label for this app says the same thing.
What Stays on Your Device
The city you choose, your language and appearance preferences, and whether you turned on the monthly notice are stored on your device only. They are never sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes them.
What the App Sends
To show you the records, the app reads a public database over an encrypted connection. Those requests carry only what is needed to answer them — a city name, a month, a filter — and no identifier that could tie them to you or to each other. Nothing is stored about who asked.
The Monthly Notice
If you turn it on, your phone checks on its own whether a newer batch of records has been published for your city, and shows a notification on the device when one has. No push server is involved, so no server ever learns which city you follow. Turning it off stops the checks.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, or account identifiers. We do not track location, access contacts, read photos, use the microphone, use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, or sell data.
Where the Data Comes From
Every figure comes from enforcement records that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement releases under the Freedom of Information Act, published by the Deportation Data Project at the University of California, Berkeley.
Those records carry no names, addresses, or case numbers — those fields are not present in the public release. The app groups them by city, county, and month and does nothing else to them.
Children
The app is not directed at children, and it collects nothing from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this app ever begins collecting anything, this page and the App Store privacy label will both be updated before that version ships. The latest version is always posted here with its date.
